We offer a number of web site hosting and design packages.
But first - what IS hosting? Hosting IS more than just putting information
on a computer...it SHOULD be BUSINESS grade to be part of a good business plan.
We term our hosting "Business Grade" hosting. Why? Because our
customers aren't fooling around when they look for hosting services - they mean business when they want hosting! And because as most of our
clients are businesses, that means they need a dependable, high speed hosting service that provides a high level of customer service and gives them CONTROL.
What makes us "Business Grade"? (Click on each item for more information
about why that's important.) For those who want to know what "hosting" is? Click here.
Ascendant Hosting Hosts on a dedicated server. We do not resell to our clients a portion of someone else's server. We have our
own server, with our scripts and tech support. In this way, you can depend on us
for a reliable computer that serves up your web site information to viewers. This allows for control, power, accessibility, and proper configuration.
We do not PACK our server with as many web sites as can fit on it. We
want your information delivered to your audience as quickly as possible. So, to aid in that, we do all we can at our end of the business. Some hosting
companies pack as many sites onto the server as they can - the result, slower transfer of information and potentially lost customers.
Our server is located on the backbone of the Internet. The United States
has central connectivity hubs, called "backbones". Our server is located on a
backbone of the Internet with multiple, redundant high-speed connections running from OC3 to OC 192. It
is located in full service (24/7/356) data center facility. for MORE ABOUT THE HIGH SPEED LINES, go to http://lucent.com and look up "OC".
The facility contains everything needed to ensure our mission-critical Internet operation is
functioning at the highest performance levels.
- Precision-controlled air conditioning systems protect and cool
mission-critical servers and equipment in the Network Operations Center.
- Restricted access to the Network Operations Center is monitored by
qualified personnel 24 hours a day, every day.
- Our Network Operations Center currently has 800 amps 3-Phase AC
power. The facility is backed up and protected by UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) systems on each individual rack. In a very rare case of
utility outage, our Cummins 250 kW diesel generator starts
automatically, taking over for the UPS systems and supplying all necessary power for the facility.
- 24x7x365 Monitoring
The Network Operations Center uses industry-standard SNMP (Simple Network Management
Protocol) and provides round-the-clock monitoring of all hardware, including routers, switches, UPS systems, and servers.
- The Network Operations Center utilizes the Red Hat Linux operating
system on the majority of servers present. Red Hat Linux is a highly configurable system, and well known for speed and stability. Red Hat
Linux servers have been documented to remain operating for up to one year at a time without even requiring a reboot. The Apache Web Server
nicely compliments the Red Hat Linux Operating System.
We have two hosting plans - one is for full web site development PLUS hosting, another is for a complete build your own web site package. Click here for more information.
